This is what happened in the first face-to-face session of the 6th edition of Santalucía Impulsa Empleados
La 6th edition of Santalucía Impulsa Empleados kicked off last February with 21 entrepreneurs who were selected from more than 100 applications. Since then, none of them have stopped working, each with their team in their respective projects. | You may be interested in: The 6th edition of Santalucía Impulsa Empleados begins with 21 new entrepreneursNow they are very close to the Final stretch of the incubation phase, and the fact is that the entrepeneurs have already completed the first three training modules of the program: UNDERSTAND, DIVERGE and DECIDE. Do you want to know how they evolved and what their first meeting was like? Let's see what each of these modules consisted of.
DIVERGIR Module — Santalucía Impulsa Employees
The DIVERGIR module was taught by Lara Larrañaga Salegi, Digital Product Team Leader at TeamLabs, and had the concept of ideation as the main topic. Intrapreneurs focused on Reformulation of the challenge through the following actions:
- Ideate
- Trend analysis and references
- Competitor analysis
- Internal analysis
In this analysis, they discovered the red ocean and the blue ocean, described in the book Blue Ocean Strategy by W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne. In it they explain that the Red ocean represents the current existing industry, it is the known space of the market; while the Blue ocean, on the contrary, represents all the unknown industries, it is the unknown space of the market.| You may be interested in: 5 essential books for entrepreneursThe teams learned about this blue ocean strategy, putting into practice all the concepts learned in order to define a solution for the proposed challenges.
DECIDE Module — Santalucía Impulsa Employees
The next module, DECIDE, was taught by Javi Larrea, Strategic Designer at TeamLabs, Founder/Game Designer of Gametonic, an expert in Human-Centered Innovation and entrepreneur/investor in companies such as Uxer School or The Good Goal. This training session focused on the value proposition and the elevator pitch and it was totally practical. In it, the entrepreneurs validated for their projects the fit of:
- Customer Jobs à Products and Services
- Frustrations à Frustration Relievers
- Alegrías à Creators of Joys
To this end, they were asked some questions: What is the real need that I want to solve? What space do I want to occupy in the market? Which one isn't? What aspects do I have in my favor? Which are against? What things are in my hand to achieve it? Which ones aren't? The ultimate goal of this activity was to be able to define the value proposition, find a fit between the problem and the solution. And then socialize that learning through Elevator Pitch to be able to transmit that value proposition to other people in a clear and concise manner. Thanks to Javi's dynamic, all the colleagues learned to summarize what their products or services could do for their customers (how it would help them to solve a real problem by differentiating themselves from the competition) and to transmit it clearly to the listeners.
In-person session — Santalucía Impulsa Empleados
The last session, so far, of this 6th edition of Santalucía Impulsa Empleados was, without a doubt, the most anticipated. Last Wednesday, March 20, the entrepreneurs met and worked together as a team for the first time. Until then, all the sessions had been online, so they had no opportunity to meet each other in person. The face-to-face mentoring took place in LAB Santalucía Impulsa, where the companions could work as a team and advance projects with your innovation mentors and your business mentors.
Game Dynamics
Again, it was Javi Larrea who led the dynamic. He did it through a face-to-face workshop that he called Designing from within and that it focused on innovation methodologies, positive psychology and gamification. The objective was to produce significant changes and to grow personally in the desired direction, getting to know the rest of the colleagues better. With this premise, each individual had the opportunity to create their own card game based on relevant aspects of your life.
In a first phase of personal introspection, the entrepreneurs had to answer a series of questions, divided into four levels, by writing or drawing. Of all the cards obtained, they chose four to share with another person and do an exercise of Reflection as a couple, sharing the content of their letters and giving feedback to their colleagues. Finally, all the participants loudly shared their opinions and mixed feelings with a ball as a common thread (the person who spoke, with the ball in his hand, had the responsibility to throw it to another, inviting him to be the next). Javi ended the dynamic with two statements by James Clear, author of Atomic habits:
“A Good player work hard to win with the game that everyone else is playing.”
“A Extraordinary player create a new game that favors their strengths and avoids their weaknesses”.
A very enriching activity that, without a doubt, helped everyone to get to know each other, to let go, get different points of view and create a closer link.
In-person teamwork session
The next activity on the agenda was a time dedicated to teamwork in the company of innovation mentors and business mentors. Now yes, face to face. But before that, the Santalucía Impulsa innovation team paused to award recognition to the three teams participating in this edition:
- Recognition of Innovation and Creativity: for the team with the most innovative, original, disruptive and creative ideas during the program. Delivered to BUSINESS team - CUSTOMER ACQUISITION.
- Recognition of Persistence and Professionalism: for the team that had demonstrated exceptional determination to overcome obstacles, persevere in the face of challenges and keep going until they achieved their objectives during the program. Delivered to HIRING team.
- Recognition of Communication and Awareness: recognized the team that had demonstrated clear and open communication; effective and successful collaboration between different areas of the company; and greater awareness with society during the program. Delivered to HOME equipment.
In the end, the day was a great help for the entrepreneurs, who are being able to solve their challenges by meeting the needs of different areas of the company, focusing on a specific customer segment and looking for a attractive and innovative value proposition of great value for Grupo Santalucía.Now, teams are one step closer on their path to success with the development of their projects. They have only a month and a half left to develop a prototype and validate it with the different areas of the company, collect the lessons learned and make a presentation of their business model proposal and pilot.
