Last Wednesday, March 22nd Santalucía Impulsa, the Entrepreneurship and Open Innovation ecosystem of Grupo Santalucía, attended the 9th edition of the Insurance World Challenges, the largest insurtech event in Southern Europe organized by Community of Insurance. We'll tell you how it was!

9th edition of Insurance World Challenges 2023

Insurance World Challenges has become the leading international conference in the insurance sector on the challenges and trends faced by the insurance industry globally. This year, the event celebrated its 9th edition under the slogan “Protecting an increasingly hybrid reality” at the Goya Multiespace Theater, in Madrid. More than 500 attendees they came in person to be part of this great event, and around 400 people from more than 20 countries They followed the Online.y event on Santalucía Impulsa, since we like to keep up to date with all the connections between the insurtech ecosystem and insurance innovation, we decided to come to enjoy and experience the great innovation fair in person.

Challenges and trends in the insurance sector

The Insurance World Challenges 2023 lasted 9 hours. In total, more than 45 speakers distributed among keynotes, panels, interviews and Show & Tell completed a very varied schedule in the morning session. The day ended with networking around the stands of the main sponsors and a Insurtech space tour with very interesting and innovative proposals.Óscar Paz, CEO of Insurtech Community Hub, was in charge of opening the event. He was also the one who gave way to the rest of the interventions planned in the agenda. Then, the latest trends and challenges affecting the insurance sector marked the course of the event.

Retos y tenencias del sector asegurador en el Insurance World Challenges 2023

The day was attended by great professionals who contributed and gave dynamism to the new edition. At the same time, they addressed the major strategic challenges in the insurance sector. Some of the topics discussed were:

  • The importance of sustainability in the field of urban and business mobility.
  • The need to protect increasingly healthy and longer lives.
  • The relevance of experience both in the world of learning and in the commercial and customer service worlds.
  • How companies are moving towards greater digitalization, with purpose, diversity and talent.
  • The need for an increasingly optimized, advised and omnichannel distribution.

Insurtechs and startups awarded at Insurance World Challenges

As in the rest of the editions, this one also delivered the Seal Awards. These awards are a recognition that rewards startups and insurtechs that help accelerate the digital transformation of insurance.The insurtechs that were part of the event were Minalea, Vitaance, Fisify, LactApp, 123 Seguro, FraudKeeper, Roble App, Nowo.Tech, Foliume, AXN, OXXY, Summa Smart Company, Gus Chat, Imeureka, Signaturit, Ignatica, Aira System, Check24, Gocleer, and Quantee, many of whom participated in the Show & Tell. After the votes and deliberation, Check24 was the winner of the Seal Award for Best Presentation or Best Pitch at Insurance Challenges 2023, Vitaance won the Seal Award in the e-health category, Foliume the one about e-distribution, Multihelpers The one from e-ecosystem and FraudKeeper was done with the special Latam Insurtech.
