Episode 31
Sustainability I: Keys and current situation
According to the UN, if we maintain our current consumption rates, by 2030 we will need two planets to support our needs. But the reality is that, for now, we only have one and this raises an urgent question for everyone, both personally and professionally: What can we do to ensure a viable and balanced future for generations to come?
In recent years, awareness has grown about how our actions affect the planet, and this has led to companies to rethink their purpose, to seek responsible practices and to constantly innovate to minimize their impact. Because, today, being sustainable is not only a matter of social responsibility; it is also a strategic need. Companies that lead in sustainability are better prepared to face economic, environmental and social challenges, and increasingly, its results reflect this commitment.
Sustainability is a global challenge, and both society and companies play a fundamental role in this transformation. Aware of this fact, from Santalucía Impulsa Podcast we started a Episodic series about sustainability.
To help us understand this topic and the importance of these principles, today we have with us two experts from Santalucía Seguros: Fernando Pablo Moreno, Director General of Oversight and Risk Management, and María Teresa Díaz, Head of Internal Control. They will tell us how Santalucía is integrating these principles into its strategy, and how innovation becomes a key tool on this path towards a more sustainable and conscious business model.
